What we plaster

Skimming, boarding and making good, for homeowners and for the builders, bathroom fitters and plumbers who need a plasterer to turn up when arranged.

  • Skimming and re-plastering rooms

Hallways, landings, stairs and bedrooms with old wallpaper, coving and a poor finish, properly prepped and brought back to a clean, smooth standard, left fresh and ready for painting.

  • Ceilings

Overboarding ceilings with existing Artex, then fully skimming for a fresh modern finish. Ceilings that were covered in paper and polystyrene tiles: boards re-secured, joints taped and skimmed smooth.

  • Garage conversions and garden rooms

Dab and skim finishes that turn a garage, workshop or split outbuilding into a clean, practical and fully usable space, from a games room for the kids to a golf simulator room.

  • Bathrooms

Floating out and skimming walls left rough after old tiles come off, getting everything back level and ready for tiling, plus fresh ceilings to finish the room.

  • Thermal boarding

Porches and rooms thermal boarded to improve insulation and overall efficiency, then finished to the same standard as the rest of the job.

  • Window reveals

Beads packed out to get the profiles spot on around each window, for clean, sharp reveals.

  • Repairs and patching

New socket positions patched in, damaged plaster made good over mixed backgrounds, old dado rail and coving removed, and cracked walls taken back to block and rebuilt alongside the builder.

A bathroom ceiling freshly skimmed above newly tiled grey walls

14 May 2026Kenilworth, Warwickshire

A bathroom ceiling, freshened up

We had already boarded out the walls ready for tiling, but it was a last-minute decision to freshen up the ceiling as well, as the existing one wasn't in the best condition. Definitely the right choice in the end, giving the whole bathroom a much cleaner and more finished look.

The stair area of a house in Wythall during the crack repair, with the papered wall kept in place

28 March 2026Wythall

Structural cracks on a staircase

Significant structural cracking ran through the stair area and a bedroom wall. We took the plaster back to block so Altum Homes could install reinforcement bars into the blockwork.

Once that was all secured, it was time to board it back up while preserving as much of the original character as possible. We made sure to keep all the surrounding features intact, including the existing paper, skirting, and coving…

Garage conversion for Cookhill Construction

Lovely garage conversion plastered, transforming what was originally a workshop into a clean, practical and fully usable space within the home.

One big games room

This building was previously split into two separate rooms but has now been transformed into one large games room for the kids, creating a much brighter, more open and practical space for the whole family to enjoy.

Artex ceilings overboarded

A full refresh throughout on this one, starting with overboarding all the ceilings due to the existing Artex and the risk of distemper causing issues later down the line. Once boarded, everything was fully skimmed for a fresh modern finish.

Another bedroom for a returning customer

This room was cleared as much as possible before starting. Previously had old wallpaper, coving, and a poor finish throughout. Now all surfaces have been properly prepped and brought back to a clean, smooth standard, left fresh and ready for painting.

A ceiling after polystyrene tiles

This ceiling had previously been covered with paper and polystyrene tiles. Once they were removed, the customer was hoping for a smooth plaster finish… but underneath was plasterboard that needed some proper prep.

  • Re-secured the boards
  • Prepped the existing surface
  • Taped all joints
  • Kept everything spotless throughout

β€œWe have been using LRW plastering for the past few years and his work and attitude to the job cannot be beaten. I have been in the trades for many years now and know how hard it is to find a plasterer to turn up, do a good job AND most importantly be clean. Luc does all this things above to the highest of standards and customers have nothing but highest regards for luc. My main work is fitting bathrooms & kitchens and as some may know getting the plasterer there in time is hard work. Luckily luc comes when is arranged and is customer friendly, unlike some plasterers!! πŸ˜‚β€

β€œI have been using LRW Plastering for a good few years now on all my building projects. They are by far the best I've come across. The work they produce is second to none!! Communication is fantastic, they are neat and tidy and clearly take a lot of pride in the finish they provide. Highly recommend πŸ‘ŒπŸ» A******”

β€œLuc was great from start to finish. Cleared up afterwards even when I said don't worry. He's polite, great comms and good advice. I've had a few plasterers over the years and he is definately the best. Pictures down are before and after I painted the rooms. Worth noting he also did the ceiling. The finish is perfect.”

Michael McGeeGoogle review, April 2026

β€œLuc re-plastered our hallway, landing and stairs, removed old dedo and coving, making everything fresh clean ready to paint. Prior to his work the walls were in a really poor state and a lot of prep and repair was needed - he completed the work to a really high standard. Additionally as it's a high traffic area in the house he kept it tidy and cleared mess and equipment away each day. Thanks Luc! 100% recommend.”

Simon MarlowGoogle review, January 2026

β€œLuc is a fantastic plasterer β€” reliable, professional, and the quality of his work is exceptional from start to finish. The walls are perfectly smooth, everything was left clean and tidy, and the job was completed on time. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top quality plasterer. Thanks Luc!”
